Deda Cristina Colonna is movie director e choreographer and its repertoire of choice is thework of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Ihis style is deeply influenced by his stage experience as dancer ed actress, with a specific competence for the baroque dance, rhetorical gesture and style acting. Based on historically informed stage practice, his direction seeks contact with today's public through a modern language, also influenced by prose acting and contemporary theater.

Deda Cristina Colonna graduated in classic dance at the Civic Institute of Music Brera (Novara) at the Higher School of Choreographic Studies (Paris). She graduated from the Sorbonne, specializing in Renaissance and Baroque dance. She later graduated from the Acting School of the Teatro Stabile in Genoa and acted in productions from Shakespeare to Cecov and Genet in Italy., France and Germany.

He has worked with la compagnia theater of sounds (Düsseldorf) and has been a guest soloist and choreographer with the New York Baroque Dance Company.

He has staged and choreographed beyond 40 works, among which, recently: Brass in the Villa by A. Lully (Innsbruck Festival of Early Music / Music Festival Potsdam Sanssouci, winner of the Olsnienia Roku Award: Best choreography 2017 and Giuseppe Di Stefano International Award 2018), The Venice Fair by A. Salieri (SWR Schwetzinger Festival), Europe by G. Melanie (Music Festival Potsdam Sanssouci), Il Justin by A. Vivaldi (Naestved Early Music Festival), The return of Ulysses to his homeland of C. Monteverdi (Olympic Theater of Vicenza). Among future commitments, the direction and choreography of Beaver and Pollux by J.Ph. Rameau (Warsaw Chamber Opera), Alexander Severus by G.F.. Haendel (Haendel Festival Hall), Zebran by the Swedish composer T. Monnakgotla (Vadstena Academy, Stockholm) e Rodelinda by G.F.. Haendel (Moving school of Basel). He created and interpreted original works, among which Dolendi pleasure - 1 gest del Caravaggio, A starry moment - Galileo e la luna ed Always The Same with the harpist Mara Galassi. He teaches baroque dance, gesture and acting from over 25 years and has held courses and master classes in various institutions in Italy and abroad.

In 2014 she was Guest Visiting Professor at the University of Stockholm / Performing Premodernity.

She has been Director of the School of Dance of the Civic Brera Institute of Novara since 2008 al 2013.

His research in baroque dance has been published in the proceedings of various international conferences and in the specialized press.
