The splendid painting and the life apparently devoid of striking facts of Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, said Guercino, they served as a canvas for the construction of a show in which they coexist different languages - from music to poetry, to the image - in the representation between ancient and modern of the great contrasts that animate Baroque art: here on the one hand the grim words del Cardinal Paleotti become almost ironic in the recitation of some pages of the treatise “Delle sacred and profane images "; on the other hand, the notes of the songs painted by Guercino resound on the walls of the music room of Casa Pennisi in Cento; here are again the verses of the Liberated Jerusalem and Virgil's Ecloga IV and a mixture of notes by Henry Purcell and the Pink Floyd.

The music of four keyboards (an organ, a harpsichord, an electronic keyboard and a computer), of many different percussions, a Renaissance tenor trombone and a countertenor voice, typical of Baroque vocality, they are combined with the projection of many paintings and drawings by Guercino, in a slender scenography that frames the stage space.
